The game's four dream sequences are the game's way of establishing just what happened that led up to the Main Character (MC) getting the book deal, as well as the MC and the Love Interest (LI) meeting, getting together, and falling apart. The choices made leading up to and during these sequences become 'What Happened' in the MC's past.
